Tims China Partners with DiDi Chuxing for Brand-Building Campaign

Partnership Focuses on Cross-Channel Marketing and Expanding Customer Base

Tims China, the exclusive operator of Tim Hortons coffee shops and Popeyes restaurants in China, has joined forces with ride-hailing company DiDi Chuxing in a brand-building campaign. The partnership aims to leverage DiDi’s large customer base to increase awareness of the Tims China brand.

Free Bagels and Coffee for DiDi Users

As part of the collaboration, DiDi app users who took rides between November 27 and December 10 earned points towards a free Tims bagel or coffee. Customers who purchased an item from the Orange Aroma series also received a co-branded Tims-DiDi sticker and cup sleeve.

DiDi-Themed Stores and Cross-Brand Promotion

Tims China went a step further by setting up DiDi-themed stores in major cities across China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Wuhan, and Chengdu. This cross-brand promotion aimed to attract more customers and increase brand visibility.

Impressive Results

Tims China’s partnership with DiDi proved successful, with the campaign resulting in approximately 20,000 new loyalty club members and generating around 1.7 million yuan in incremental sales. The campaign also gained significant attention on Xiaohongshu (also known as “Red”), a popular social network in China, with over 11 million views.

Expanding Customer Base and Targeting Commuting Professionals

This partnership combines the extensive customer reach of DiDi’s transportation services, including taxis, ride-hailing vehicles, and shared bicycles, with Tims China’s network of over 800 stores. By targeting commuting professionals, Tims China aims to further expand its customer base and strengthen its presence in the market.
