Millat Group Signs Exclusive Development Agreement

Last week, the Millat Group signed a landmark development agreement with Pret A Manger, granting Millat the exclusive license to operate Pret shops in Southern Africa. This partnership is part of Millat’s long-term plan to expand into the sector by offering customers access to fresh, organic, and sustainable food and beverage options.

Pret A Manger’s Global Success

Pret A Manger’s entry into the South African market follows its success in other international markets such as the UK, India, and France, solidifying its position as a global leader in the food-to-go sector. The brand is known for its high-quality, freshly made products, including sandwiches, salads, wraps, baked goods, snacks, and a range of vegetarian and vegan options. Pret also offers a variety of organic coffees, teas, and other hot and cold beverages.

First Shop to Open in Johannesburg

The first Pret A Manger shop in South Africa is set to open in Johannesburg, strategically located to cater to the dynamic, fast-paced residents of the city. In the coming months, additional shops will open in key cities including Cape Town, Durban, and Pretoria.

The Paris Café Festival, dedicated to professionals and coffee lovers, will be held from 9 to 11 March 2024 at the Carreau du Temple. This event aims to highlight the richness of speciality coffee and bring together a community that values coffee culture.

French Coffee Championships

Hosted by the French section of the Specialty Coffee Association, the French Coffee Championships at the festival will challenge participants to showcase their skills in preparing espressos, milk drinks, and original signature drinks to exacting standards in just 15 minutes.

New Features

This year’s festival includes a brand new area dedicated to food, where visitors can enjoy sweet treats paired with coffee. Attendees can also participate in Cupping sessions to explore the aromatic complexity of speciality coffees.

Visitors can experience True Artisan Café, explore the Roasters’ Village by La Marzocco, and immerse themselves in the world of coffee with De’Longhi. Monday, 11th March, is exclusively reserved for coffee shop and hotel-restaurant professionals.
